Rail Traffic Volume in the U.S. Increases by 3.2%
In the week ending November 16, the total volume of railway transportation in the United States increased by 3.2% compared to the same week last year. According to data released by the Association of American Railroads (AAR), the total rail freight transport amounted to 516,886 cars. Carload freight transport saw a decrease of 5.6%, totaling 223,659 cars, while intermodal freight transport experienced an increase of 11.1%, reaching 293,227 cars. In the same week, the quantity of coal transported by rail in the U.S. decreased by 16.7%, amounting to 57,661 cars.
