Istanbul Stock Exchange Kicks Off the Day with Gains: Which Stocks Took the Lead at Opening?

The BIST 100 index started the day with a 0.43% increase at 9,272.75 points.

The BIST 100 index closed at 9,232.90 points, down 1.73% in yesterday's trading. The daily trading volume of the index was above average at 91.7 billion TL, which constituted 76% of the total volume. In the BIST 100, 23 stocks rose while 77 declined yesterday.

Borsa Istanbul started the new day with reactive buying, and the sectors that received the most demand in the first hour were communications, holding companies, and banking. The two sectors that were in the negative at the opening were sports and technology.

In general, the stocks ORCAY, MEGAP, and IHLAS began the day as the top gainers in Borsa Istanbul. SURGY, CEOEM, and BRMEN were the biggest decliners at the opening.

In the domestic currency market, the dollar/TL was trading at 34.55, with an increase of around 0.7% in the morning hours. Euro/TL remained stable around the 36.6 mark, while gram gold was slightly down at 2,915 TL.

In foreign markets, it was observed that Asian indices were preparing to close the day positively, mainly driven by China. In yesterday's trading, European indices were in the negative while U.S. major indices moved positively, except for the Dow Jones. In the morning hours, European and U.S. futures were seen to be continuing in positive territory.
