Crypto-Friendly Nominee for SEC from Trump
According to Coindesk, Trump's transition team is considering Teresa Goody Guillen, a partner at the law firm BakerHostetler, for the position of chair of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Goody Guillen stands out as a significant figure who has served as a securities attorney for blockchain companies and traditional businesses, gaining experience against the SEC. Industry sources indicate that Trump is looking for a crypto-friendly executive who will bring lightly touched regulations to the SEC. It is believed that Guillen's adoption of a crypto-friendly approach could provide flexibility in SEC regulations. The strategic appointments by President Trump in this regard offer an opportunity for further development of cryptocurrency markets in the U.S. Notably, candidates proposed for the SEC include individuals who will strengthen bridges within the crypto sector. With a crypto-friendly administration, significant steps are expected to be taken in the U.S. regarding digital asset regulations.
