Foreign PPI increased by 59.24 percent annually in August
According to TurkStat data, in August 2023, it increased by 59.24 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, while manufacturing increased by 1.94 percent monthly. TurkStat published the Foreign Producer Price Index data for August 2023. Accordingly, in August 2023, it increased by 1.95 percent compared to the previous month, 48.50 percent compared to December of the previous year, 59.24 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and 55.86 percent compared to twelve-month averages. Annual changes in two sectors of the industry were realized as 54.28 percent increase in mining and quarrying and 59.33 percent increase in manufacturing. Annual changes in main industry groups were realized as 50.89 percent increase in intermediate goods, 65.91 percent increase in durable consumer goods, 60.55 percent increase in non-durable consumer goods, 44.19 percent increase in energy and 69.54 percent increase in capital goods. Monthly changes in main industry groups were realized as 0.81 percent increase in intermediate goods, 2.84 percent increase in durable consumer goods, 1.87 percent increase in non-durable consumer goods, 7.93 percent increase in energy and 1.92 percent increase in capital goods. 12 sub-sectors showed lower annual changes Among the YD-PPI sectors, printing and recording services with 40.01 percent, basic metals with 41.45 percent, coke and refined petroleum products with 44.19 percent were the sub-sectors with the least increases in the indices. On the other hand, computers and electronic and optical products with 82.84 percent, machinery and equipment nec 79.98 percent, and tobacco products with 75.89 percent were the sub-sectors with the largest increases in the indices.
