Netflix subscriber count increased in the second quarter
Global internet television network Netflix increased its subscriber base by approximately 5.9 million in the second quarter of 2023. Netflix announced its second-quarter balance sheet. Accordingly, the company's revenue in the second quarter of the year increased by 3 percent compared to the same period last year, reaching $8.2 billion. The company's revenue was recorded as $7.9 billion in the April-June period of last year. The company's net profit also increased by 3 percent compared to the same period last year, reaching $1.5 billion in the second quarter. Netflix's net profit in the second quarter of last year was $1.4 billion. The company's earnings per share also increased from $3.20 to $3.29 in the same period. Netflix's subscriber base also increased by approximately 5.9 million in the second quarter of the year. The company's worldwide subscriber base increased by 8 percent annually, reaching 238.4 million. Revenue growth expected in the second half On the other hand, Netflix recalled that it launched paid password sharing in more than 100 countries in May, where more than 80 percent of its revenue is generated, and noted that revenue in each region increased compared to before the implementation and that the number of registrations exceeded cancellations. Netflix, which announced today that paid sharing will be available in almost all of the remaining countries, emphasized that it expects revenue growth to accelerate in the second half of 2023.
