TANKER REPORT - The Bosphorus Strait Closed to Transit Passages Due to Southerly Storm
The Bosphorus Strait has been closed to transit traffic due to a southwesterly storm. According to reports, the passage for tankers and vessels with a maximum speed of less than 12 nautical miles has been suspended.
The meteorological forecast indicates that winds in the Marmara region will strengthen from the south and southwest in the early hours of today, shifting to the northeast with storm conditions ranging from force 6 to 8 (50-75 km/h) after midday.
As a result of the storm, passage for tankers and vessels under 12 nautical miles has been halted since 05:20. The storm is expected to lose its intensity by this evening.
