Boeing Offers 38% Salary Increase to End Strike

Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg has called on the company’s 33,000 striking workers to consider a new contract proposal that promises a significant pay raise. The proposed four-year contract includes a 38% pay increase, compared to the previously suggested 35% raise. This proposal comes as a strategic move to resolve the seven-week work stoppage affecting the aviation giant's operations.

Emphasizing the urgency of moving forward, Ortberg stated, "It's time for all of us to come together and focus on rebuilding the business and delivering the best airplanes in the world. There are many people who rely on us." This call was made through an email to the workforce, highlighting the importance of unity in overcoming the current challenges facing the company.

Workers currently participating in the ongoing strike are expected to vote on the new contract proposal on Monday. The outcome of this vote will determine whether Boeing can maintain its plans to refocus on its recovery and core business of aircraft production. The proposed pay increase is seen as a key incentive to encourage employees to return to work and help stabilize Boeing's operations.
