List of Taxpayers Owing Over 5 Million TL in Taxes and Penalties Released

The Revenue Administration (GIB) has released a list of taxpayers with tax and penalty debts exceeding 5 million TL to the public. According to the statement on GIB's website, this list was prepared based on Article 5 of the Tax Procedure Law, as part of a work authorized by the Ministry of Treasury and Finance.

As outlined in the Tax Procedure Law No. 213, the disclosures for the year 2024 are specified in the General Communiqué No. 564 of the Tax Procedure Law. Within this framework, tax penalties that have been finalized as a result of assessments made ex officio, on an application basis, or by administrative means (code I-A) and tax penalties that have expired and remain unpaid as of the end of 2023 (code I-B) are included. These lists will be announced in tax offices between October 15-31, 2024, and published on GIB's website between November 1-15, 2024.

Details of finalized assessments categorized under code I-A The list of finalized assessments (I-A) contains a total of 2,464 taxpayers. Among these taxpayers, 419 are individuals and 2,045 are legal entities. The number of active taxpayers is 299, representing 12.1% of the total number of taxpayers. Additionally, the number of inactive taxpayers has been reported as 2,165.

The total amount of finalized tax and penalties has reached 53.1 billion TL, with 6.3 billion TL attributed to active taxpayers, accounting for 11.9% of the total. The remaining amount of 46.7 billion TL belongs to inactive taxpayers.

Details and notable data regarding the list of debtors under code I-B On the other hand, when considering the list of debtors (I-B), there are a total of 36,806 taxpayers. Among these, 7,948 are individuals and 28,858 are legal entities. The number of active taxpayers on the list is 4,807, representing 13.1% of the total number of taxpayers.

The total amount of overdue and unpaid taxes and penalties amounts to 914.9 billion TL. Active taxpayers are responsible for 113.8 billion TL of these debts, accounting for 12.4% of the total debt. The debt amount for inactive taxpayers has been reported as 801.1 billion TL. This data provides a broader perspective on tax payment habits and taxpayer profiles.
