Minister Kacır participated in the MÜSİAD Industry and Technology Summit (MUST), held with the theme "Make a Move". He noted that MÜSİAD has made significant contributions to Turkey's industry, production, development, and employment, as well as to the technological infrastructure through the projects it has developed, and stated:
"NATIONAL INCOME: We have increased our national income from 238 billion dollars to 1.1 trillion dollars in the last 22 years. In 2002, Turkey was the 18th largest economy in the world, and by growing at an average rate of 5.4 percent per year, it has now become the 11th largest economy in the world according to purchasing power. We have transformed our country into a global manufacturing hub with the number of our organized industrial zones increasing from 191 to 362 and by establishing 45 industrial zones.
EXPORT INCREASE: We have increased industrial production 3.2 times. We raised employment from 3.9 million to 6.7 million. Under the leadership of our industry, we increased our exports from 36 billion dollars to 262 billion dollars. We multiplied our automotive exports by 14, white goods exports by 9, chemical exports by 11, steel exports by 7, pharmaceutical exports by 12, furniture exports by 16, and machinery exports by 11 times.
TECHNOPARKS: Today, nearly 11,000 companies are involved in technology development activities in our technoparks, which number 104. Our engineers and technicians working in over 1,600 R&D and design centers within the private sector are conducting studies that pave the way for high value-added production.
COMPETITIVE: Turkey is a country that can export the most products competitively to the most countries in the belt extending from China to Central Europe. In the upcoming period, we are rolling out new instruments for the transformation of our manufacturing industry focused on value-added production, green and digital transformation.
HIGH TECHNOLOGY: We have mobilized over 100 billion lira in investments so far through the Technology-Oriented Industry Mobilization Program, which establishes a comprehensive support mechanism from R&D to mass production for high technology investments. With our “Investment Commitment Against Advance Credit” (YTAK) program, we provide attractive long-term financing for high technology investments.
HIT-30 HIGH TECHNOLOGY INVESTMENT PROGRAM: We have announced the HIT-30 High Technology Investment Program, the largest incentive program in our history, which will make our country the destination for new technology investments. Through this program, we offer investor-based project investment incentives, market development support, attractive financing conditions, and suitable investment areas.
DIGITAL AND GREEN TRANSFORMATION: We are launching new projects to support the sustainability and efficiency-oriented transformation of the locomotive sectors of our economy. In the twin transformation of our industry, we shared with the public our understanding that the government should not only encourage but also guide with “Digital and Green Transformation Support Programs”.
INCENTIVES: Through the "Turkey Green Industry Project" and "Turkey Organized Industrial Zones Project" that we conduct in cooperation with the World Bank, we are providing 750 million dollars of financing to our industrialists, SMEs, and green technology initiatives, making Turkish industry an example and pioneer in the green transformation. We will continue to introduce new incentive instruments in line with the twin transformation needs of our industrialists.
NATIONAL TECHNOLOGY MOVEMENT: The future of the Turkish economy is bright, and its prospects are very clear. The factor that will lead us to long-term success is an understanding of value-added, competitive production and strategic investment. With your support, in the Century of Turkey, we will strengthen our industry and production infrastructure with high technology and added value through the National Technology Movement.
ACHIEVING GREAT SUCCESSES: The level reached by our defense industry, which ignited the signal flare of our National Technology Movement, was once again showcased to the world last week at SAHA Expo. The view we proudly see in the defense industry is virtually a trailer of the peak Turkey will reach in this field in the future. We can see the tremendous successes that are achieved when the children of these lands are given opportunities and their paths are cleared. We act with this understanding."
