The Number of Foreign Visitors to Turkey Increased by 4.64% Compared to the Same Month Last Year
In September 2024, the number of foreign visitors to Turkey increased by 4.64% compared to the same month last year.
According to preliminary data released by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and obtained from the General Directorate of Security, the number of foreign visitors to our country in September 2024 reached 6,054,431, marking an increase of 4.64% from the same month last year.
The statement noted: "In September, among the 6,054,431 foreign visitors who came to our country, 262,062 (4.33%) were day-trippers."
The ranking of the top five provinces where foreign visitors most frequently entered in September is as follows:
- Antalya - 36.92% (2,235,322)
- Istanbul - 28.96% (1,753,540)
- Muğla - 9.87% (597,817)
- Edirne - 6.77% (410,006)
- Izmir - 3.67% (222,100)
In the January-September 2024 period, the number of foreign visitors to our country increased by 6.75% compared to the same period last year.
The number of foreign visitors to our country during the January-September 2024 period reached 41,858,305, reflecting a 6.75% increase from the same period last year. Among these visitors, 1,327,048 (3.17%) were day-trippers.
The ranking of the top five provinces where foreign visitors most frequently entered in the January-September period is as follows:
- Istanbul - 33.50% (14,023,143)
- Antalya - 31.71% (13,274,653)
- Edirne - 9.01% (3,770,256)
- Muğla - 7.66% (3,207,900)
- Izmir - 3.34% (1,398,874)
