"Positive EIA Decision Granted for Tureks Turunç Mining's Planned Marble Quarry Capacity Expansion Project"

Foreks - An "Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Positive" decision has been made regarding the planned capacity increase project for the marble quarry by Tureks Turunç Madencilik (IS: MARBL).

In a statement made on the website of the General Directorate of Environmental Impact Assessment Permission and Audit, the following information was provided:

"The EIA report submitted to our Ministry regarding the marble quarry capacity increase project, with the license number 67963, planned to be conducted by Tureks Turunç Madencilik İç ve Dış Tic. A.Ş. within the borders of İcikli Village-Göcen Village (l25a2 PAFTA) in the Çay district of Afyonkarahisar province, has been examined and evaluated by the EIA Report Review and Evaluation Commission. In accordance with Article 14 of the EIA Regulation, the Commission's work and public opinions have been taken into consideration, and our Ministry has issued a 'Positive Environmental Impact Assessment' decision; this decision must be announced to the public by the Afyonkarahisar Governorate (Provincial Directorate of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change). Furthermore, compliance with the provisions of the relevant regulations arising from the Environmental Law No. 2872, as well as obtaining the necessary permits from the relevant institutions/organizations in accordance with current legislation, is required."
