TAV Opens Airports to Creative Ventures
In the field of transportation and aviation, innovative startups gathered at Ankara Esenboğa Airport. As part of the "Airport Innovation Days" organized in collaboration with TAV Airports (IS:TAVHL) and Groupe ADP's Sifted, several startups, including Sensemore, Assistbox, and Waste Log, were awarded.
The event, which attracted passenger interest at Esenboğa Airport, began with speeches from Franck Mereyde, a Member of the Executive Board of TAV Airports, and Nuray Demirer, General Manager of Ankara Esenboğa Airport. The finalist startups presented their projects throughout the day to the jury, participants, and passengers.
Franck Mereyde stated, "As TAV Airports, we are part of Groupe ADP, the world's largest airport operation platform, serving 336 million passengers annually. Our global footprint extends to 110 airports in 33 countries. Ankara Esenboğa is a significant member of this network. Airport operations require a long-term perspective. Growth is always our focus, and our strategy has three main pillars: passenger experience, sustainability, and digitalization. We are working to minimize our environmental impact, provide the best travel experience for our passengers, and streamline our operations. In pursuing these objectives, we leverage the entrepreneurial ecosystem and support startups. We aim to collaborate with startups in both our daily operations and long-term goals."
The participating startups that passed the preliminary evaluation were placed in three different categories: "Airport Operations," "Green Airport," and "Passenger Experience."
The first-place winner, Sensemore, uses the latest technology and AI-powered tools to optimize the performance and reliability of machines, predicting malfunctions before they occur to reduce maintenance time and costs.
The second-place Assistbox aims to quickly and effectively meet all video conferencing needs of institutions with its video-based solutions.
Waste Log, awarded third place, offers a platform that provides complete control in waste management. It allows institutions to track and report their waste in real time, thus reducing their environmental impacts.
The Airport Innovation Days event will continue on November 6 in Amman, Jordan, at Queen Alia International Airport, and then on December 4 at Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris, France.
The three award-winning startups have the chance to participate in the event held in Paris on December 4. The first-place startup will receive a PoC (Proof of Concept) award, allowing them to implement their projects at an airport operated by TAV Airports and test their solution in a real-world environment. Additionally, all three startups will receive international promotion support from Sifted.
