Musk plans to charge monthly fee for blue ticks on Twitter
Twitter’s new owner Elon Musk is making Twitter blue tick ownership a paid option. According to The Verge , Twitter will soon start charging users $19.99 per month for the blue tick checkmark. Under the proposed plan, Twitter would make verification a core feature of its premium subscription service Twitter Blue. Existing Twitter Blue subscribers would pay $4.99 per month for features like the edit button, private reader mode, bookmarks, and more. In addition to the $19.99 subscription price increase, existing users with blue ticks will reportedly be given 90 days to become Twitter Blue subscribers, and users will lose their blue ticks if they fail to do so.
