Şimşek: The recent developments will not cause lasting damage to inflation.

In a meeting with foreign investors today, Minister Mehmet Şimşek expressed that recent developments will not cause lasting damage to inflation. According to a report by Ekonomim, the Treasury and Finance Ministry announced that Minister Şimşek, along with Central Bank (TCMB) President Fatih Karahan, held a teleconference with global investors at 4:00 PM Turkish time.

During the discussion, Şimşek noted, "Following the court ruling, demand for foreign currency increased. We see that 60% of this demand comes from foreign investors, 30% from domestic companies, and 10% from individuals." He also emphasized that "the President fully supports the economic program."
