Fidan's visit to the U.S. comes at a time of intense domestic political focus in Turkey. A Turkish diplomatic source, who wished to remain anonymous, indicated that Fidan will emphasize the importance of initiating efforts to lift the CAATSA sanctions and will address Turkey's process of rejoining the F-35 program during his meeting with Rubio.
