Reuters: Turkey will request the lifting of CAATSA sanctions from the USA.

Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan is set to request the removal of CAATSA sanctions against Turkey from U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio. According to information reported by Reuters, this move will pave the way for Turkey's return to the F-35 program.

Turkey aims to strengthen its relations with the new administration led by President Donald Trump, who took office on January 20. Fidan's visit to the U.S. comes at a time of intense domestic political focus in Turkey. A Turkish diplomatic source, who wished to remain anonymous, indicated that Fidan will emphasize the importance of initiating efforts to lift the CAATSA sanctions and will address Turkey's process of rejoining the F-35 program during his meeting with Rubio.
