UBS: China's Economic Growth Expected to Rebound in Q4

UBS Investment Bank's chief economist for China, Tao Wang, stated that China's recent policy easing could lead to a stronger fiscal impulse in the fourth quarter. Wang believes that the ongoing policy easing and moderately improving sentiment could support consumer spending, while exports are expected to remain strong in the coming months. UBS anticipates that the seasonally adjusted annualized real GDP growth will accelerate from 3.6% in Q3 to 6.5% in Q4, with annual growth expected to stay around 4.6% or slightly above. This would increase the overall annual growth to 4.8%. Wang also noted that considering the possibility of Trump's reelection and rising tariffs, China will likely increase policy support next year. This could include more aggressive interest rate cuts or household sector subsidies such as childcare.
