ECB/Vujcic: The Risk of Eurozone Inflation Falling Below Target Has Increased
Forex - According to Boris Vujcic, a member of the ECB Governing Council and the Governor of the Croatian National Bank, the risk of falling below the European Central Bank's 2% inflation target has increased. Vujcic stated, "The risk of remaining below the target has definitely increased compared to six months ago." The ECB is expected to cut borrowing costs for the fourth time since June at its final policy meeting of the year in December. While further easing may be likely in 2025, the pace and extent of such measures are becoming increasingly contentious among officials.
