Bodrum Cruise Port Concludes 2024 Season with Record Passenger Numbers
Foreks - Bodrum Cruise Port, which is part of the world's largest cruise port operator Global Ports Holding, welcomed a total of 98 cruise ships and 118,083 cruise passengers in the 2024 season. In the ferry services between Bodrum and Kos, 722 ferry trips served 138,851 passengers, concluding the season on November 8, 2024, with the Silver Spirit cruise ship. Thus, the port hosted over 256,000 passengers in total. The 2024 season in Bodrum opened on April 7, with the Silver Spirit cruise ship once again.
10 ships visited Bodrum for the first time this season. As one of Turkey's popular tourist destinations, Bodrum also hosted ships that visited the port for the first time. These include Crystal Symphony from Crystal Cruises, Marella Discovery from Marella Cruises, Seven Seas Grandeur from Regent Seven Seas Cruises, Costa Fortuna from Costa Crociere, Norwegian Getaway from Norwegian Cruise Lines, Silver Whisper and Silver Ray from Silversea Cruises, MSC Explora I from MSC Explora Journeys, Explorer of the Seas from Royal Caribbean Cruises, and Astoria Grande from Aquilion Shipping. These first-time visitors were welcomed with a performance by the Bodrum Band and bid farewell with a violin concert.
A record is also expected for the 2025 season. Aziz Güngör, the Director of Eastern Mediterranean Ports for Global Ports Holding, stated, "We are preparing for the 2025 season from today. As Bodrum Cruise Port, we stand out in the rising star of the tourism sector, cruise tourism, with our high-standard infrastructure and operational expertise. So far, 121 cruise calls are already planned for 2025. We anticipate another record-breaking year. Next year, we will also have ships that will visit Bodrum Cruise Port for the first time. We are very pleased to see Bodrum becoming an increasingly popular cruise destination."
