Hotel Occupancy Rates Increased in September

In September 2024, the occupancy rate in accommodation facilities with simple documentation and businesses was higher compared to the same month last year. According to the data released by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the occupancy rate in September was 65.54%. In the same month last year, the rate was 63.54%.

The total number of overnight stays in September was reported as 26,124,502. In the same month last year, the number of overnight stays was 24,974,127. Of the total, 18,625,446 were foreign visitors and 7,499,056 were domestic visitors.

The total number of people who visited the facilities was 9,320,273, consisting of 5,622,604 foreign and 3,697,669 domestic visitors. Last year in the same month, 8,800,056 people entered the facilities.

In contrast to other data, the length of stay for visitors decreased in September compared to the same period last year. The average length of stay last September was 2.84 days, while it decreased to 2.80 days this year. Foreign visitors' length of stay fell from 3.41 days to 3.31 days, while domestic visitors' length of stay increased from 2.02 days to 2.03 days.

For the January-September period, the occupancy rate was recorded at 54.05%. During this period, the total number of visitors to the facilities was 64,976,125, with a total of 171,840,164 overnight stays. The average length of stay was determined to be 3.22 days for foreigners, 1.99 days for locals, and a total of 2.64 days.
